A weird neighborhood deserves weird lessons

This is the neighborhood with a troll under the bridge and a parade that opens the summer. Fremont kids tend to be makers, and we love that. Our lessons leave room for making things up, writing songs and playing by ear, not just working through a book.

Your teacher crosses the bridge, not you

The Fremont Bridge goes up a lot. You don’t need to be on the wrong side of it with a guitar case and a hungry kid. Your teacher comes to your house and the lesson happens where your kid already feels at home.

Five paths, one kid

We work across reading music, improvising, chord charts, ear training and songwriting. Every student gets a mix built around what they love, and it shifts as they grow. We call it finding your musical fingerprint.

If your kid quit lessons before

That’s usually a bad fit, not a lack of talent. The restless kid, the kid who plays by ear, the kid who’d rather write their own song: those are our favorite students.

How it works

3. Your first lesson happens at your place.

Questions parents ask

My kid only wants to make up songs. Is that okay?

It’s more than okay. Songwriting is one of our five paths, and we use it to teach real skills like rhythm, chords and structure.

Do we need a piano?

Not to start. A basic keyboard works, and your teacher will help you figure out what’s worth buying later.

Adults too?

Absolutely. Our students have ranged from 3 to 87.

How long are lessons?

30, 45, or 60 minutes, weekly.
