Kirkland has the lake, the parks and some of the best schools around. It also has 405. Between school, sports and everything else, the last thing your family needs is another drive. Your Fingerprint teacher comes to your house, from Juanita down to Houghton.

More than the method book

A lot of Eastside kids are already strong readers and fast learners. We give them more than a book to work through. We work across five paths: reading music, improvising, chord charts, ear training and songwriting. Kids who can read music also learn to play by ear, make things up and write their own songs.

Teachers who actually play

Every Fingerprint teacher is a working musician and a multi-instrumentalist. Your kid picks songs they love, and their teacher uses them to build real skills. We call it finding your musical fingerprint.

If your kid quit lessons before

That’s usually a bad fit, not a lack of talent. The restless kid, the kid who plays by ear, the kid who’d rather write their own song: those are our favorite students.

Questions parents ask

My kid already reads music well. Is this still for them?

Yes. Strong readers often gain the most from ear training and improvising, which traditional lessons rarely teach.

Do we need a piano?

Not to start. A basic keyboard works, and your teacher will help you figure out what’s worth buying later.

How young can they start?

As young as 3.

How long are lessons?

30, 45, or 60 minutes, weekly.
